Good quality, I actually made the hole a little bigger by drilling it. This way the lock slides all the way down to the spare.

This lock worked perfectly on the spare tire of our travel trailer.

The lock works as intended. However, it will rattle. I solved the rattling issue by inserting a part of a shop towel into the opening that goes over the lug nut to take up any looseness in the lock assembly The shop towel eliminated all of the slop and therefore it does not rattle.

If you mount a spare tire, protect it from theft. I don’t know who would steal spare tires but criminals are stupid and will steal anything.

This is good for steel but don't try to use them on mag wheels or aluminum. They wont work. I bought this for the tire on my RV but it wouldn't work if you wanted to use it on the Honda rear tire hanger. I bought the mag whell locks from Autozone. The only thing is they only sell four. But you have five on the car with the spair. So I ended up haveing three extra. Ohl well. The one here for the stell rims is a must . People today just steal to steal and sell your tires. So protect your spare you might needed it some day

Purchased this to hold the spare on my boat trailer (215/75D14). Easy to install and looks nice. I also purchased the MaxxHaul 70214 spare tire carrier. I had to drill the hole a bit larger to accommodate the length of the bolts on my tire mount. Second weekend out this year, had a blowout. No problems at all with the tire holder or lug nut lock.

I didn't feel safe leaving my trailer until I got this lock. t was a little sloppy, leaving a small gap on the side - so with it locked, I took a bar and bent it to close that gap. Probably more cosmetic but it looks more secure.

If they rattle a little, a garden hose washer does the trick. I know, I know if anybody wants to steal your spare, they can jimmy these things but maybe they won't bother if there is a little obstacle to get past.

So far so good. I installed a new tire carrier on my enclosed trailer and needed a way to secure the tire to the carrier. This little gadget is just what I needed. There is a little plate that you put on the stud for the spare tire carrier after you put the tire on it. Then you bolt the tire on as usual. Lastly, you put the lock shell over the bolt and turn the key to secure the shell to the plate under the bolt. I have no complaints about it so far. Since this lock is going to be under a vinyl tire cover it won't be exposed to the elements, so I can't speak to how well it holds up outdoors, but it should work great for our purposes.

It's not super heavy duty but I would buy it again. Some reviews say it rattles but I think there putting them on the four wheels. I have it on the spare of my tj and do t hear any noise.
